Take control over your website, with a web-based publishing platform

Websites have traditionally been a collection of static pages that require the help of a web designer (or someone else experienced in HTML) when the need to update them arises.

This is fine for projects that are likely to require only infrequent updating, or for some exceptional cases where a pixel-perfect, hand-coded design is needed. Generally, however, a website based on a content management system is preferable.

A content management system (CMS) makes the editing and addition of new pages much simpler than was previously possible, and in many cases clients can take full control over their websites. Even where clients prefer to use specialists such as Staggerforth.co.uk for updates, the cost and time required is reduced substantially.

How does it work?

A user interface, not dissimilar to that of a word processor such as Microsoft Word, allows pages to be quickly put together and edited. The layout and styling of the site is controlled by a set of templates, which designers such as ourselves generally create.

In many cases we also carry out the initial copy-writing (wording) of the site, and carry out any advanced maintenance – however the potential for a business to have complete control over their website and to add new pages and carry out updates by themselves is clear.

Enhancements

A further advantage of content management systems is that extra functionality can be seamlessly integrated. The addition of e-commerce facilities, advanced searches, user logins and nearly anything else you can think of is eminently possible and, in many cases, thoroughly tried and tested components are available to achieve just that.

Unlike many of our competitors, at Staggerforth.co.uk we build CMS-driven websites as standard, making your website’s future expansion a cost-effective and desirable option.
